Project Benefits:
- Create a comfortable environment for people of all ages and abilities who are walking, biking, and rolling on Gateway Boulevard.
- Add a Class I Shared-Use Path from Oyster Point Boulevard to Grand Avenue.
- Tie into other future projects:
- Connect the proposed protected bicycle facility to the future bikeways planned to be constructed on Oyster Point Boulevard.
- Connect to future bike lanes on Grand Avenue and ties in to shared-use path proposed as part of the Community Facilities District.
- Complete the transit network to the South San Francisco Ferry Terminal.
- Include elements from the SamTrans Bus Stop Improvement Plan.
- Close gap in the existing bike network, to provide safe connections from downtown South San Francisco to the South San Francisco Ferry Terminal.
- Help daily commuters travel safely to businesses and office parks in South San Francisco.
- Add a dedicated bus lane to improve transit performance and encourage more people to use transit instead of driving.
